FLORIDA — A Bahamian man was arrested following a major drug seizure off the coast of Palm Beach County, authorities said.
Sheriff’s marine units spotted a boat heading toward the Boynton Inlet last Sunday. The boat turned away upon seeing law enforcement, prompting deputies to investigate.
When stopped, deputies discovered more than 200 pounds of cocaine and 98 bottles of codeine-containing cough syrup stored in large duffle bags.
The case was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations, and the individual was taken into custody. Authorities said the investigation remains active.
