FLORIDA — A DeFuniak Springs man was arrested Sunday following an altercation with deputies, authorities said.
Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies found a vehicle parked in a vacant lot at Highway 81 and Corinth Road. The driver, identified as Patrick Edenfield, was reportedly passed out behind the wheel, and deputies observed a marijuana cigarette inside the vehicle.
Records show Edenfield’s driver’s license was suspended, and he appeared to be under the influence.
When deputies attempted to arrest him, Edenfield allegedly became combative and struck one of the officers.
He was secured and transported to the Holmes County Jail, where he was charged with Driving While License Suspended, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence, and Possession of Marijuana.
