ALABAMA — The Priceville Police Department arrested 23-year-old Tyrese Nashad Hamilton of Decatur early Saturday morning on several drug-related charges and outstanding felony warrants.
Officers stopped Hamilton’s vehicle around 2:15 a.m. on Garth Road near Highway 67.
Police observed signs of impairment but said Hamilton refused to take a field sobriety test.
A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
During the search, Hamilton allegedly attempted to discard more marijuana from his waistband onto the roadside.
He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence.
A records check revealed Hamilton has felony arrest warrants for nationwide extradition related to probation violations on previous marijuana trafficking and possession charges through the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.
Hamilton was taken to the Morgan County Jail and is being held without bond.
