ALABAMA — A Huntsville man is facing multiple charges, including drug trafficking, following a traffic stop Monday evening, according to police.
The Huntsville Police Department said officers stopped Corey King Jr. near Gulf Road just before 7 p.m. while investigating complaints in the area. During the stop, officers learned King had an active felony warrant.
Police said officers found approximately one ounce of marijuana inside the vehicle. The investigation later led officers to a residence, where they reported discovering an additional four pounds of marijuana and a firearm.
Authorities also said King attempted to provide false identifying information to officers during the encounter.
King has been charged with drug trafficking, obstructing justice by using a false identity, and unlawful possession of a pistol by a minor, drug addict, or habitual drunkard. He is currently being held at the Madison County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
