
ALABAMA — An Athens man has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking following a narcotics investigation by local authorities.
According to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, the department’s Narcotics Unit arrested James Alfred Kirby Jr., 50, of Athens, on Monday. Investigators said the arrest came after the investigation revealed that Kirby was in possession of approximately a quarter pound of methamphetamine.
Kirby was taken into custody and transported to the Limestone County Detention Facility. Authorities said he is being held there pending a bond hearing before a judge.
No additional details about the investigation were immediately released.
