
ALABAMA — A man was arrested Thursday night after a burglary at a home on Elkwood Section Road, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 2000 block of Elkwood Section Road.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office said the homeowner confronted the male intruder, who then fled the scene on foot.
With assistance from the Huntsville Police Department and agencies in Limestone County, deputies established a perimeter in the area.
Authorities also deployed drones and K9 units during the search.
The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Brandon Joseph Tate, was located hiding nearby and taken into custody. His vehicle was recovered and impounded.
Tate was transported to the Criminal Investigations Division and has been charged with burglary to a residence.
