One person arrested following breaking and entering, drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after officers responded to a breaking and entering in progress in Kinston.

Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad said the incident occurred in the 1300 block of McAdoo Street. A caller reported seeing a suspect enter a vacant building. When officers arrived, they located Joseph Ward inside the property.

During the arrest, officers found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in Ward’s possession. He was charged with breaking and entering, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ward is being held in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
