KENTUCKY — A Laurel County man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he assaulted another man and stole his car during an incident on Aug. 30.
According to deputies, Joshua Harris, 32, of Lily, struck a man in the face outside a store before taking his vehicle. A woman was reportedly hanging out of the car as Harris drove away but eventually fell from the vehicle.
Deputies later located Harris and the stolen car at a nearby motel. The vehicle was returned to its owner.
Harris was charged with theft by unlawful taking of an automobile valued at more than $10,000, along with two counts of wanton endangerment.
He was also arrested on two Pike District Court bench warrants for failure to appear in court on charges including criminal trespassing, terroristic threatening, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and menacing.
Harris was booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center.
