SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was arrested following an assault at a residence in Florence earlier this month, according to the Florence Police Department.
Police said officers responded on Dec. 10 to a home in the 500 block of Brunson Street after receiving a report of an assault. Following the investigation, Gregory Williams was arrested.
According to police, surveillance video showed Williams entering the victim’s home, and the victim told officers he knew Williams. Authorities said Williams allegedly entered the victim’s bedroom the night before the reported assault and blocked the doorway, preventing the victim from leaving.
Police said the victim reported that during an argument, Williams threw him to the floor and placed an arm over his throat, causing difficulty breathing.
Williams was later located at another residence and taken into custody. He has been charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and battery, and kidnapping.
