One person arrested following armed robbery incident in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery on Tunnel Road in east Asheville, authorities said.

The incident occurred Monday, Nov. 24, at 9:47 p.m., when the victim reported being approached by a man with a firearm who demanded money. The victim handed over more than $160 before the suspect fled, according to the Asheville Police Department.

With assistance from APD’s drone unit, officers located the suspect, identified as Christopher Calvin Robinson, in a nearby wooded area. He was taken into custody with the help of K9 Macho. Police said Robinson was found in possession of narcotics, a firearm, and the stolen money.

Robinson faces multiple charges, including felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer. He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on a $50,000 secured bond.
