NORTH CAROLINA — A woman was arrested Monday night following an armed disturbance in the Carver Court area, police said.
Officers from the Kinston Police Department responded around 10:18 p.m. to reports of a woman banging on doors and claiming she was “looking for someone to shoot.”
A resident provided a detailed description of the suspect, and officers identified her as 45-year-old Monecka Lowry, who was walking with a group and matched the description.
Police said Lowry resisted officers’ attempts to detain her. After she was taken into custody, officers found a concealed firearm in her bag.
Lowry has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and resisting a public officer. She remains at the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
