ALABAMA — U.S. Marshals Service task force officers arrested a Birmingham man on multiple drug and weapons charges following the execution of an arrest warrant earlier this week.
According to authorities, task force officers with the U.S. Marshals Service executed an arrest warrant at the Birmingham residence of Christopher Needham on Jan. 20, 2026. Needham was wanted in Marshall County on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and criminal conspiracy to promote prison contraband. Those charges were obtained by the Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Services Division.
During the arrest, officers reported observing two bags of marijuana and several firearms in plain view. Investigators then obtained a search warrant for the residence.
As a result of that search, officers seized 423.72 grams of marijuana, 9.42 grams of suspected cocaine, $3,369 in U.S. currency, three rifles, two handguns, multiple magazines, and several rounds of ammunition.
Needham was taken into custody and charged with first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm, and possession of a short-barreled rifle.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
