OHIO — A police chase on I-90 Tuesday afternoon caused lane closures and significant traffic slowdowns.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the two left lanes of I-90 westbound were blocked for about an hour beyond E. 152nd/E. 140th Street.
Traffic cameras showed police cars on the interstate and slow-moving vehicles in the area.
Willowick Police Lt. Keith Lawrence reported that the pursuit began around 3:35 p.m. when officers attempted to stop a pick-up truck with two men inside.
The chase ended after officers deployed stop sticks along the highway. The truck struck the stop sticks, lost control, and spun into the median wall.
The driver was arrested and faces numerous felony charges.
The passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No officers or civilians were injured during the incident, Lt. Lawrence said.
The interstate was fully reopened by 4:40 p.m.
