KENTUCKY — A man was arrested on Friday, July 11, after deputies discovered a large quantity of illegal drugs during a traffic safety checkpoint on McWhorter Road, about eight miles east of London.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found a significant amount of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with a glass pipe with residue, digital scales, and a used hypodermic syringe.
Johnny Darrell Brown, 52, was taken into custody and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – fentanyl; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brown is currently being held at the Laurel County Detention Center.
