One person arrested after traffic stop leads to drug bust in Alabama

ALABAMA — A Decatur man was arrested Friday afternoon after Priceville Police found drugs in his vehicle, the department said.

Officers with the Priceville Police K-9 Unit stopped a vehicle around 5:40 p.m. Aug. 22 in the 3200 block of Point Mallard Parkway. The driver, identified as 37-year-old John Edwin Kircher, was subjected to a narcotics investigation following the traffic stop.

Police said the investigation led to the discovery of cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Kircher was arrested and taken to the Morgan County Jail, where he faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence.

Kircher’s total bond is set at $23,600.
