OHIO — A Marysville woman has been arrested after police say she sent threatening emails targeting local schools.
According to the Marysville Police Division, officers were notified around 8:23 p.m. on Feb. 12 by the Union County Clerk of Court about a suspicious email containing generalized threats toward a local school. Authorities said the message did not name a specific building.
Around the same time, Marysville Schools reported receiving a similar email from the same account.
Investigators traced the email address to a residence on the south side of Marysville. Detectives executed a search warrant at the home and interviewed 37-year-old Colleen May.
Police said May admitted to sending the emails and told investigators she used a student’s information in an attempt to conceal her identity.
May was arrested and booked into the Tri-County Regional Jail on a charge of making terroristic threats.
