One person arrested after stealing over $20,000 worth of railroad tracks in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Monday accused of stealing railroad tracks valued at $22,000.

Deputies said Walter Tyndall was charged with grand larceny and trespassing after allegedly taking several tracks from the Aberdeen Rockfish Railway Company site off Marlboro Road.

According to investigators, Tyndall surrendered after learning warrants had been issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody by the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.

Bond will be set at a later date.
