One person arrested after stealing nearly $2,000 in merchandise from Ohio store

OHIO — Alliance Police arrested a man Thursday accused of stealing nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from a local Meijer store.

According to a police Facebook post, 53-year-old Kenneth Lesher was taken into custody after allegedly shoplifting an assortment of trading cards and electronic gaming equipment.

Authorities say Lesher threw the stolen items over the lawn and garden fence and attempted to retrieve them outside the store without paying.

The total value of the merchandise was estimated at $1,957.52.

Police also discovered Lesher had multiple outstanding warrants, including from adult parole, North Canton, Medina, and Summit County.
