PENNSYLVANIA — A Lancaster County woman is facing criminal charges after police say she stole credit cards from a gym locker room and used them to make fraudulent purchases.

According to the Manheim Township Police Department, the investigation began on Dec. 1 when a victim reported that their credit cards had been stolen from a locker at Planet Fitness. Police said the stolen cards were later used to make four unauthorized transactions at Walmart, totaling $1,281.

Investigators reviewed Walmart security footage and identified the suspect as Tiffany Torres, 36, of Leola. Police said the video showed Torres using the stolen credit cards to purchase gift cards.

On Dec. 3, officers interviewed Torres in connection with two additional incidents in which credit cards were reported stolen from a gym and then used to buy gift cards. During the interview, investigators said Torres was found in possession of a credit card bearing the victim’s name and admitted to police that she obtained it from Planet Fitness.

Torres has been charged with access device fraud and theft by unlawful taking. The case remains under investigation.
