INDIANA — A 20-year-old man is in custody after allegedly stabbing his roommate multiple times during an early morning altercation on Monday, April 7.
According to the Brownsburg Police Department, officers responded to Hendricks Regional Hospital just after 5 a.m. for a report of a stabbing victim.
The investigation led officers to a residence in the 300 block of South School Street, where the incident reportedly took place earlier that morning.
Police say the suspect and the 18-year-old victim, who are roommates, got into a fight that escalated into violence.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and was transported to the hospital for emergency surgery. As of two days after the incident, he remains in critical but stable condition.
The suspect has been preliminarily charged with battery with a deadly weapon and is currently being held at the Hendricks County Jail.
The Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office will determine final charges.
