
NORTH CAROLINA — A man is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly shot his roommate early Wednesday morning, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a reported shooting around 12:20 a.m. at a residence in the 5300 block of Lenard Road in Jamestown. Authorities said the caller reported that a 31-year-old man had been shot by his roommate, identified as 44-year-old Scott Fanter.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they arrested Fanter. He has been charged with felony attempted first-degree murder, felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, and felony assault by pointing a firearm.
Fanter is being held without bond at the Guilford County Detention Center in High Point. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 27.
Authorities have not released details about what led to the shooting but said it was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains ongoing.
