TENNESSEE — A Knoxville man has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly firing a shot at an Amazon delivery driver outside his home on Saturday evening.
According to court records, the incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. at a residence on Norris Freeway.
The delivery driver told police he had just dropped off a package and was walking back to his truck when the homeowner, identified as 56-year-old Michael Ensor, came outside yelling and holding a black firearm.
The driver reported hearing one gunshot as he was returning to his vehicle.
When officers arrived, Ensor told them he believed someone was breaking into his home and admitted to firing a round into the flower bed as the delivery truck was leaving.
Ensor allowed police to review doorbell camera footage, which reportedly showed him arguing with the driver while holding a gun and occasionally pointing it in the driver’s direction.
Ensor is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
