FLORIDA — A 38-year-old man has been arrested following a months-long drug trafficking investigation in Hernando County, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Nelson Saldana was identified as a suspect involved in selling cocaine in the Spring Hill area.
Investigators conducted multiple undercover operations, during which detectives purchased both cocaine and marijuana directly from Saldana, authorities said.
Officials executed a search warrant Friday at a home on Giovanni Avenue in Spring Hill, where Saldana was taken into custody without incident.
During the search, deputies said they recovered 70.1 grams of cocaine, 250.3 grams of marijuana, 6.3 grams of oxycodone hydrochloride (59 pills), and 2.1 grams of alprazolam (8 pills), along with drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said Saldana admitted ownership of the narcotics during a post-Miranda interview.
He is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of oxycodone, possession of alprazolam, maintaining a structure for drug trafficking, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Saldana was taken to the Hernando County Detention Center, where he was initially held without bond due to the trafficking charge.
The investigation remains ongoing.
