NORTH CAROLINA — A 38-year-old Havelock man was arrested Wednesday after fleeing a traffic stop, leading deputies on a chase, and entering a stranger’s home, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the Craven County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Patrol Bureau attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Corey Alexander Thomas on Fontana Boulevard for multiple traffic violations.
Thomas failed to stop and led deputies on a pursuit down McCotter Boulevard to Sanders Lane, where he exited the vehicle and entered a residence.
A 911 call from the home reported an unknown man inside, according to authorities.
Thomas was taken into custody and charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and resisting a public officer. He was placed in the Craven County Confinement Facility.
