One person arrested after making threat against Ohio school

OHIO — A juvenile has been charged with inducing panic after an alleged bomb threat targeting Clearview High School and Durling Middle School prompted the closure of schools on Thursday.

According to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI alerted authorities at approximately 3:36 a.m. about a “potential bomb threat” posted on Facebook.

The post, linked to a fraudulent account, triggered immediate action.

In response, Clearview High School officials closed all schools as a precaution.

Deputies conducted a thorough security sweep of the affected schools, including K-9 bomb detection teams.

Vincent Elementary School, though not initially part of the threat assessment, was also searched. No explosive devices or credible threats were discovered during the investigation.

Later that morning, investigators identified a juvenile suspect, who admitted to making the threat as well as a previous incident under investigation.

The juvenile has been charged with inducing panic. Authorities have not released the suspect’s name or age.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office emphasized the seriousness of such threats, which disrupt community safety and school operations.
