ALABAMA — A Huntsville man has been charged after police say he broke into a home and stole items on Friday afternoon.

Huntsville Police responded around 3:30 p.m. on November 7 to the 2000 block of Colony Drive for a report of a possible burglary in progress. While officers were on the way, they learned of another related address in the 2200 block of Colony Drive.

When officers arrived at the second location, a man and woman told them that a suspect had entered their home through an unlocked back door. Once inside, the suspect went upstairs and took items before being confronted by a resident, causing him to run into the nearby woods.

Police said officers located a man matching the description a short time later. The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Joshua Emanuel Robinson of Huntsville.

Robinson was interviewed by the Huntsville Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit and subsequently charged with second-degree burglary. He was taken to the Madison County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
