ALABAMA — An Andalusia man was arrested following a brief on-foot chase with deputies and now faces multiple drug-related charges, according to the Covington County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say deputies arrested Kevin Lamar Huff on March 31 after locating him and initiating a short pursuit on foot. Sheriff Blake Turman said Huff had been hiding from law enforcement for “quite awhile” prior to his arrest.
According to officials, Huff had allegedly been evading deputies for months while staying in the Andalusia area. Law enforcement officers had been actively searching for him during that time.
Following his arrest, Huff was charged with several offenses, including possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in the second degree, tampering with a witness, possession of drug paraphernalia (first offense), failure to comply, and bond revocation.
Bond for the charges totals $23,500. The most significant bond amount is tied to the controlled substance charge at $10,000, followed by $7,500 for the marijuana charge.
Authorities also noted that Huff has a prior conviction for drug trafficking.
The case remains under investigation. All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
