TENNESSEE — A man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash and attempting to break into homes and vehicles in West Nashville, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Officers with the department’s West Precinct arrested 30-year-old Hayden Gregory on multiple charges, including motor vehicle burglary, two counts of attempted motor vehicle burglary, four counts of aggravated attempted burglary, theft, vandalism, aggravated criminal trespassing and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police said the incident began when a Ford Fusion crashed into a power line and then a concrete wall at the intersection of Charlotte Pike and 33rd Avenue North. Authorities later determined the vehicle had been reported stolen on Feb. 7 from Highway 70 after it was left with the keys inside.
According to police, Gregory fled the crash scene. A witness provided officers with a detailed description of the suspect, and Gregory’s driver’s license was found inside the wrecked vehicle.
Officers searched the surrounding area and located Gregory sitting in the backseat of a Range Rover parked inside a residential garage along 33rd Avenue North. He was taken into custody without incident.
Gregory remains in custody on a $150,000 bond.
