NORTH CAROLINA — An 18-year-old Bridgeton man was arrested Tuesday after deputies responded to a reported breaking and entering in progress in the Fairfield Harbour community, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said deputies with the Criminal Patrol Bureau were dispatched to Spar Court on March 3 following a report of a break-in. When deputies arrived, they found Alexander Scott Aiken inside the residence.

Authorities said Aiken had entered the home illegally and was in possession of multiple firearms at the time. The weapons were seized by deputies.

Aiken was taken into custody at the scene and charged with felony breaking and entering to terrorize and communicating threats toward the homeowner.

According to the sheriff’s office, Aiken is currently being held in the Craven County Confinement Facility without bond because he was already out on bond for a previous charge involving possession of illegal narcotics.

The investigation remains ongoing.
