NORTH CAROLINA — A woman is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault involving a police officer at ECU Health Medical Center, according to court records.
Authorities said 31-year-old Tyniqua Lashaun Keener was arrested Tuesday, March 24, following an incident that occurred the previous day at the hospital.
According to records, Keener allegedly punched an ECU Health police officer in the face while intoxicated. Officials also said she resisted officers and engaged in disruptive behavior during the incident.
Keener is charged with assault on a law enforcement or campus police officer, intoxicated and disruptive conduct, resisting a public officer and disorderly conduct.
Court records show she was issued a $10,000 secured bond. As part of her release conditions, Keener is not allowed to return to ECU Health Medical Center unless she is seeking medical care.
A disposition hearing in the case is scheduled for April 23 in Pitt County District Court.
The incident remains under investigation.
