CLEVELAND — A man was killed and a woman was injured in a fiery crash late Thursday night on Interstate 480, according to Cleveland police.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. in the eastbound lane near the State Street exit.
Police report that a 61-year-old man was stopped in the eastbound lane when his vehicle was struck from behind by another car driven by a 29-year-old woman.
The impact caused the stopped vehicle to catch fire.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but the 61-year-old man did not survive the crash.
The 29-year-old woman sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the initial stop is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
