COLUMBUS — One person was killed, and another critically injured in a shooting Saturday morning in the Northern Lights neighborhood.
According to Columbus police, officers responded to reports of a shooting at 8:21 a.m. near the intersection of Walford Street and Fitzroy Drive, just south of Morse Road.
Upon arrival, they found two male victims. One man was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:29 a.m., while the other was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
As a precaution, police issued a temporary “shelter in place” alert, which was lifted shortly afterward.
The Columbus Division of Police Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
Authorities have not yet determined a motive or identified any suspects.
