SOUTH CAROLINA — A woman was killed Tuesday in a head-on collision involving an Electric City Transit bus on Michelin Boulevard.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of Michelin Boulevard and Roush Street.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2006 Ford sedan traveling west crossed the center line and collided head-on with the bus.
The driver of the sedan, identified as 60-year-old Kellie Cason Griffin of Williamston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the sedan was airlifted to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.
Officials said the bus was carrying 12 passengers at the time.
One was airlifted to the hospital, eight others were transported for treatment, and three refused medical attention.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
