OHIO — Social media users who have been sharing their Goodwill finds and thrifts have also been sharing what they call prices that are too high.
Goodwill stores are nonprofit thrift shops that sell donated clothing, furniture, and household items at affordable prices.
Proceeds from sales support job training, employment placement, and community programs for people in need.
Multiple social media users in Ohio and elsewhere have complained that the prices are no longer affordable and that Goodwill is charging new prices for items or more than what the products are worth.
Social media influencer “Faux Your Eyes Only” recently posted a video to Facebook pointing out what they call “crazy Goodwill prices.”
A majority of the comments were in agreement with the original poster stating the prices were too high.
One commenter said “They are charging too much for stuff that was free to them.”
An article posted to Yahoo Finance by Maddie Dudley explained the frustration consumers are feeling with the prices at Goodwill.

Yes.way to high.can buy cheaper at Walmart
I refuse to shop there ..look up much the CEO makes...that's why.... I will go to any other thrift stores but GOOD WILL
I've been shopping at Goodwill for many years, and in the past few years the prices have soured. The things that were affordable are now priced so high that I'd rather buy these items new. And the thing that are worth buying are being sold at auction, this is so unfair. Why price gouge for things that you received for free? I worked for a local thrift company, and I've seen so many nice things be thrown out because they don't sale due to the high prices. Why not lower the prices and let someone in need enjoy the many items that are being trashed because you couldn't get what you want for them. Respectful...
Goodwill is greedy $%*#. Karma is a b*%#
I live in Lancaster, Ohio and for Years my Wife and I have pulled things up on our phones while in the Goodwill in Lancaster and they had repeatedly cost more than in actual Stores or on line !!!! We have told there staff and they just say well that’s OUR price !
Price's are to high at goodwill. I paid three dollars more for a dress at goodwill than I paid at Walmart.
Yes! They are charging over $5 for a simple T-shirt. They had some Christmas sweaters for $9.99 which was the same price s store down the street was charging for new ones.
Price's at the Loudonville Goodwill... RIDICULOUS! Other stores around Ohio... it varies. Depends on what area you go to thrift at. There are some really cool shops beside G. Will. Go where you feel most $$ comfortable at. KEEP ON THRIFTIN'!! Thrifting is my life! 😊
Yes
Yes a I agree that the prices are to high. I believe they will eventually lose a lot of customers because of there greed. I remember when seniors would get 50% off discount on Sundays not anymore. The shirts use to be around $3.00 now shirts are $5.49 this is sad. People go to goodwill because they cannot afford to pay what the stores want but now you’re better off waiting for a sale at the stores. I have pretty much stopped going to the store. The people that are running the Goodwill should remember what the store was founded on. The Harrison, Ohio store was the store I use to go to.
