OHIO — A 74-year-old woman from Cleveland, Ohio, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Perry County, Alabama, on Saturday morning, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Mable Shepard was fatally injured when the Buick Lacrosse she was riding in left the roadway and overturned.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Perry County Road 23, about 12 miles north of Uniontown.
Authorities said Shepard, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Buick Lacrosse was taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital for treatment.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident.
