OHIO — A winter storm watch has been issued for Columbus and surrounding counties, with five to 10 inches of snow and mixed precipitation expected from Sunday morning through Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington.
The watch covers Union, Delaware, Champaign, Clark, Madison, Franklin, Licking, Greene, Fayette, Pickaway, Fairfield, and Hocking counties.
Roads are likely to become slick and hazardous, making travel difficult, NWS warns.
Current Conditions
As of Friday morning, Columbus has already received around two inches of snow from overnight showers.
Less than an inch of additional snow is expected Friday, with official snowfall measurements to be released later.
Most local schools remain on winter break until Monday, though up to 10 inches of snow could be on the ground by then.
