OHIO — A Morrow County Sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed Monday night while responding to a domestic situation in Marengo, leaving the community in mourning.
According to Morrow County Sheriff John Hinton, the deputy arrived on scene when a shooting occurred.
“The deputy was struck and transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Sheriff Hinton. “The subject was also shot and was transported to a hospital in serious condition.”
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
“There are no words to express the pain being felt by our office,” said Sheriff Hinton.
