OHIO — One juvenile has been arrested and authorities are searching for a second after a police pursuit involving a suspected stolen vehicle ended in a crash Thursday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a white SUV reported stolen from Sandusky County was spotted on U.S. 20 west of Woodville. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading police on a pursuit.

The chase ended when the vehicle lost control and crashed on Interstate 280 northbound just before the Ohio Turnpike bridge.

Police said the juvenile driver was taken into custody following the crash. A second juvenile passenger fled the scene and remained at large as authorities continued searching the area.

Due to the police activity, officials advised residents to avoid the area near the I-280 and turnpike interchange, specifically from State Route 420 to Lemoyne and State Route 163 to Hanley Road.

Lake Local Schools also delayed classes by two hours because of the incident.

Authorities have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
