OHIO — Green Local Schools closed Monday after officials reported “unforeseen mechanical issues” affecting the district’s transportation fleet.
According to a post shared around 6 a.m. on the district’s official Facebook page, the transportation problems would have caused students to wait outside for buses for an unsafe length of time.
School officials said the decision was made out of concern for student safety. “We apologize for the inconvenience, but the safety and well-being of our students are our highest priorities,” officials wrote.
No additional details were released regarding the specific mechanical issues or when normal transportation operations are expected to resume.
