Ohio school closings and delays for Friday

OHIO — A round of winter weather moving into Ohio has prompted multiple schools and higher-education institutions to announce closures or delayed openings for Friday, December 12, 2025.

Road conditions are expected to be slick in the early morning hours, leading officials across southwest Ohio to modify schedules for safety.

Adams County/Ohio Valley Schools in Adams County will operate on a two-hour delay, citing concerns about icy secondary roads.

In Hamilton County, several colleges and private schools have also announced changes. St. Peter Faber Academy will be closed Friday, while Cincinnati State Technical & Community College will operate on a delayed schedule, with all campuses opening at 10 a.m.

Both the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University have adjusted operations as well. UC will open at 10 a.m., while Xavier announced it will operate remotely for the day, shifting all classes and campus activities to virtual formats.

Officials advise students and families to stay updated as weather conditions may evolve overnight, and additional adjustments remain possible.
