Ohio school bus driver on administrative leave following reckless driving incident

OHIO — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reckless driving incident involving a Bethel Local Schools bus carrying students on Tuesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, multiple 911 calls reported the bus swerving across lanes and partially off the road in the area of U.S. 40 and State Route 202.

A deputy responded and found the bus stopped by a concerned citizen. The driver reportedly showed signs of impairment, including unsteadiness and constricted pupils.

The driver underwent a voluntary blood draw at a nearby emergency room. Results are pending and will determine whether OVI charges will be filed.

Five students were on board at the time. None were injured, and they were transferred safely to another bus.
