OHIO — State Rep. Sharon Ray (R-Wadsworth) has reintroduced legislation aimed at stopping a proposed highway interchange in Brunswick.

House Bill 276, originally from the 135th General Assembly, responds to constituent concerns about the planned I-71 interchange at Boston Road.

Ray is sponsoring the bill alongside State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-Ashland).

The bill seeks to repeal a section of the State Transportation Budget for fiscal years 2024-25 that mandates the Ohio Department of Transportation to move forward with the interchange project.

“I will continue fighting for the citizens of Brunswick and Medina County as a whole,” said Ray.

“This interchange will have a negative financial impact on the surrounding area, jeopardize the safety of the community, and force residents of Medina County to lose their homes through eminent domain.”

The legislation awaits a bill number and committee assignment.
