AKRON — Two men have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a methamphetamine distribution operation in Marshall County, officials announced.
David Adam Stewart, 42, of Glen Easton, West Virginia, received an 87-month sentence for distributing methamphetamine.
Michael J. Lloyd, Jr., 22, of Akron, Ohio, was sentenced to 78 months for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Stewart, also known as “Adam,” sold methamphetamine from his residence.
Lloyd was involved in distributing the drug from Stewart’s home and other locations in the county.
A law enforcement investigation led to the search of two properties, uncovering 275 grams of methamphetamine, 8.5 grams of fentanyl, and cash.
Stewart has a criminal history in Marshall County, including previous convictions for selling fentanyl resulting in death and a firearms offense.
Both men will serve three years of supervised release after completing their prison terms.
The Marshall County Drug Task Force, part of the federally funded HIDTA program, led the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid prosecuted the case, with U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presiding.
