DELAWARE — A Delaware County jury on Wednesday found Rayshawn Lamont Anderson, 18, guilty of fatally shooting a man in broad daylight outside his home.
Anderson was convicted on two counts of murder and one count of discharging a firearm.
The charges stem from a March incident when Anderson, who was 17 at the time, confronted Alonzo Byrd, 38, outside Byrd’s Delaware County home.
According to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office, Anderson shot Byrd five times in the road during the encounter.
Initially charged in juvenile court, Anderson’s case was later transferred to Delaware County Common Pleas Court after prosecutors sought to try him as an adult.
The seven-day trial concluded with the jury’s guilty verdict.
Anderson faces sentencing on Nov. 25 and could receive a life sentence, with parole eligibility after 21 years.
