Ohio man arrested for attempted murder

OHIO — A multi-agency effort led to the apprehension of a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder case in Cincinnati.

Michael Bowlin, 28, of Berea, Kentucky, was taken into custody around 5 p.m. Saturday after law enforcement officers traced him to the Indian Lake area.

The investigation began with a cell phone ping that directed officers to a residence in the 7200 block of Delaware Drive, where Bowlin had been staying.

Although Bowlin was not present when officers arrived, further investigation revealed he had been with Robert Sturgill, 30, of Russells Point.

When questioned, Sturgill refused to provide information about Bowlin’s whereabouts, despite being warned of potential criminal charges for obstructing the investigation.

Officers eventually tracked Bowlin and Sturgill to the 200 block of North Main Street in Lakeview. Sturgill was taken into custody at the scene, while Bowlin attempted to evade capture by fleeing on foot and climbing onto a building roof.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit assisted in the search, leading to Bowlin’s apprehension.

A subsequent search of the Delaware Drive residence uncovered evidence connected to Bowlin’s case, which has been turned over to Cincinnati detectives as they continue their investigation into the attempted murder charges.

Bowlin was lodged on his outstanding warrants, while Sturgill faces charges of obstructing justice for his refusal to assist officers.

Both men remain in custody as the investigation progresses.
