OHIO — A two-vehicle crash at a rural intersection on Friday, Nov. 22, left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and medics responded to the intersection of Ft. Loramie Swanders and Kuther roads after receiving reports of the collision.

Emergency crews arrived to find both vehicles heavily damaged and multiple individuals injured.

An investigation revealed that a 2006 Chevy Cobalt failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a 2020 Honda Pilot.

The driver of the Chevy, identified as 21-year-old Enrique Loaiza of Sidney, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver and a passenger in the Honda Pilot were taken to a local hospital with injuries.

Emergency personnel from Anna Fire and Rescue and Sidney Fire and EMS assisted deputies at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
