OHIO — A Ross Township police K-9 assisted officers in locating and arresting a wanted suspect who fled from a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon, according to a news release from the Ross Township Police Department.

The incident began around 3 p.m. on Nov. 21 when FLOCK cameras alerted officers to a possible wanted individual in the area.

Police located the suspect’s vehicle in a driveway near the 2500 block of Cincinnati-Brookville Road, where officers saw the man — identified as Kevin Nowlin Jr. — getting into the driver’s seat.

An officer initiated a traffic stop at the BP gas station on Hamilton-Cleves Road. Police said Nowlin immediately got out of the vehicle and ran.

Sergeant Liddil and his K-9 partner, Blitz, responded to assist. The K-9 tracked Nowlin to a neighbor’s property, where officers found him hiding in bushes. He was taken into custody without further incident.

During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded firearm believed to belong to Nowlin. He was booked into the Butler County Jail on charges including having weapons under disability, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants, and driving under suspension. Police said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
