NORTH CAROLINA — Kelly Holleman, 53, a media specialist at Ashe County Middle School, died in a crash Wednesday while on her way to school, according to the Ashe County School District.
In a Facebook post, the district called her death “an unimaginable loss for our school family,” noting that her passing is being felt throughout the community, as several of her family members are also connected to the district.
The district’s crisis intervention team was on site at Ashe County Middle School Wednesday to support students and staff.
Counselors and crisis interventionists were also made available at other schools as needed.
