NORTH CAROLINA — A Madison County High School employee has been arrested for allegedly committing indecent liberties with a student.
According to a news release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, David Edmonds was arrested on Oct. 6 and issued a $20,000 secured bond.
The investigation began on Sept. 26 at the request of the high school. Edmonds was suspended from his position the same day, pending the investigation.
Madison County Schools Superintendent Will Hoffman confirmed the suspension and said the district is cooperating fully with law enforcement. “Because of confidentiality laws, Madison County Schools cannot provide any further information about this matter,” Hoffman stated.
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the case.
