
MICHIGAN — An attempt to arrest a wanted man in Clare County led to a weekend-long drug investigation that resulted in multiple arrests across the county.
According to the Clare County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to a home on Barbara Lane in Hayes Township on Friday, Feb. 26, to locate 40-year-old Kyle Willard Giddings of Harrison, who had outstanding warrants. While at the residence, a deputy reported seeing pipes and a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine in plain view.
Deputies secured a search warrant for the home and said they found methamphetamine, Suboxone strips, syringes, pipes and ammunition. Several people inside the home were taken into custody.
Craig Glenn Giddings, 36, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house. Casey Alan Morgan, 42, was charged with possession of methamphetamine as a second offense, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and was lodged on two existing warrants. Cierra Michelle Smith, 28, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of analogues, both as second offenses.
As the investigation continued, deputies obtained a second search warrant for a home on Apache Trail in Hayes Township. Amanda Marie Demille, 41, was charged with possession of methamphetamine as a second offense after deputies reportedly found drug paraphernalia with meth residue.
On Saturday, deputies located Kyle Giddings at the Barbara Lane address. He was arrested on his outstanding warrants and additionally charged with maintaining a drug house as a repeat offense.
Deputies also arrested Corey James Lane, 50, who was wanted for absconding from parole. During that arrest, authorities encountered Trever Charles Gottschalk, 41, of Beaverton.
Deputies said they observed suspected methamphetamine near Gottschalk and found a police scanner in his possession. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine as a second offense and use of a police radio scanner in the commission of a felony and was lodged on a parole violation.
The largest seizure occurred early Sunday morning when deputies executed a search warrant at a home on East Monroe Road in Hatton Township. Investigators said they seized more than 106 grams of methamphetamine, 59 Suboxone strips, as well as scales and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution.
Kayla Marie Earls, 35, was charged with delivery and manufacture of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house and possession of analogues. Dominic Ryan Tyler, 32, was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
All suspects were arraigned in 80th District Court in Clare County. The investigation remains ongoing.
